Who we are and where we are going...
Tecnimar was founded in 1973 by Captain Jorge Dahl Restrepo in Cartagena, Colombia. In its early days, he worked both as a maritime pilot and a tugboat captain. Later, he acquired his first tugboat, accompanied by his son, Carlos J. Dahl, as first officer. In 1991, with the privatization of terminals and port services in Colombia, Intertug (a tugboat company) was established. That same year, Tecnimar evolved into what it is today and, together with its allied companies, has become one of the leading maritime pilot firms in Colombia.

To provide maritime pilot services, personnel transportation, mooring, and general maritime services through trained personnel, standardized procedures, and specialized equipment ensuring quality, reliability, service efficiency, vessel and personnel safety, port infrastructure protection, and environmental preservation.

We are registered with the Superintendency of Ports and Transportation as Ports Operators and hold a commercial operating license issued by the General Maritime Authority (DIMAR).
It is one of the leading companies in modern Management Processes, incorporating certification standards and a safety and quality management system tailored to the maritime industry.
